Hmmm. I'm feeling very inspired by all that chocolate. I know the resident treat-hound would be, too, if I showed it to him. The cake trips me up with the buttermilk requirement. I never have that on hand. And I'm just not sure how it all coordinates with my flat-belly new year's resolution. Maybe the whole-wheat raisin bread . . .
Don't worry about a buttermilk shortage. I usually substitute milk with vinegar (1 cup milk and 1 tablespoon white vinegar, let sit for a few minutes, adjust amounts to fit your recipe). No more excuses for avoiding this amazing cake :)
